Hi guys! I've been a fan of vintage 26 mtb for a long time, and l've fixed and customized a couple bikes on my own and they're my daily commute and I go to the mountain now and then.
Right now I'm looking forward to get into gravel and I'm having trouble finding the best bike for me (and my budget).
On one hand I'm thinking of the Cannondale Topstone 4, on the other the Surly Preamble.
llove Surly because of the customization options and the brand's DNA, but the Topstone comes to mind as a more techie bike.
I thought asking here to actual riders would be the best option.

You already have multiple old clunky bikes for casual cruising around and having fun, so you probably don’t need the surly.
I prefer the cannondale frame. I’d take the topstone 1 if I had to choose cannondale, but i’d sincerely suggest taking a look on the canyon grizl 7, it’s great value for what it offers.
