2 Weeks before Christmas I was hit off my bike by a drink driver at a roundabout.
My bike faired alot better than I did. Still healing up but doing alot better. Please wear your helmet, I wasn't that day and was very lucky to have no lasting head injury. I will not forget it again

Ooph. Thanks for the reminder. Get back to 100% soon!
I’m currently laid up with two broken legs and a messed up shoulder from being hit head on on Friday night coming home from work. Telling people to stay safe and ride responsibly is poppycock when there are so many drivers out there who will maim or kill you because it’s easier than waiting a few seconds in traffic.
What have been the consequences for the driver since ? That’s absolutely shit for you I hope nothing you won’t heal from
In the same boat buddy. Hope you heal up and are back on the bike soon!
Oof.
Hope you’re doing better mate. Looks like the car took the lions share of vehicle damage. Your bike looks relatively unscathed.
I had a similar encounter with a van the December before last. Took me a while to get back in the saddle, but I’m back to pedalling everywhere again.
Yes, wear a helmet. But, wow, just shows how messed up infrastructure and justice is that someone can carelessly threaten your life, and get the equivalent of a slap on the wrist.
I’m with you there – got hit on foot a few days after Christmas. Quite the hospital stay!
Once I was going to visit my gf and a dog got in my way while I was going 35km/h down a hill. Got bruised on my head, arm and leg, got a nice scar at the side of my eye. The bike had the handlebars scratched and the dog hurt his leg but later was ok.
Damn brother you’re lucky you’re ok with no helmet!
Hope you’re healed up and back on the bike soon. It’s a sad reminder that despite all precaution we still share the roadways with incredibly careless and irresponsible drivers.
