  1. Damn dude that hurts to look at, definitely get a chain catcher; super easy install, $12 or so and never have to worry about this nightmare again

  2. Awful situation but look superficial. That part of the frames have more layers of carbon. If you want a fast solution, use a vinyl protection or some protective adhesive tape. you have a lot of options, bike specific or normal.

But for a permanent solution search for someone who repair carbon to paint it. And then adjust the derraileur and use a protective tape.

  3. Dear god 😳

But on the positive side, it looks to be mostly cosmetic / surface finish. Nothing deep into the carbon weave itself that I can see. No loose fibers or obvious delamination. The bottom bracket area has a lot of layup because it is the most stressed part of the frame next to the head tube. It’s not like its going to rust or anything. Just looks really grody.

Look into a place that can repair the finish itself or possibly repaint the entire bike.

  4. Honestly, it looks a lot worse than it really is. I would sand a lot of this down and fill any deep carbon gouges with epoxy. Sand again and paint.

The BB on any carbon bike is the beefiest area and can take a lot of dings and scrapes. When you ride, if you feel or hear any flex look for cracks.
