Took my 1981(?) Raleigh Super Record for a bit of a joyride in the snow last night… ignore the seat angle.

I’ve had it for four years now, got it for free as a barn find from a friend (it was her mother’s back in the day). It was in rough but rideable shape and I’ve put in some work over the years. Most notable was a 2K paint job I DIY’d last spring, complete with custom decals I designed to stay somewhat faithful to the original (and worn-out) design. I get a lot of compliments on it, especially with the “retro” head and tail lamps.

Missing some parts for the front brake (hence why the front rim stayed coated in snow), but the only major service I’ve had to do was swap out the bottom bracket spindle when it sheared by the crank arm. Bit difficult to source the part but it’s been a dream since. Plan on keeping it through college and beyond!

  2. First off, great looking bike.

But that seat is _way_ too low for you. I sympathize with your knees
