  1. 100% my fault. For the few real skiers boarders out there, you know how quickly decisions need to be made. A focus on the child only, loosing focus of the guy until it was too late, are all things I could have and should have done better. It’s easy to get too comfortable if you spend enough time on the slopes. Glad I posted this, even if I am getting roasted, because it has reminded me how quickly things can go from a great time to an absolutely terrible accident when the correct decisions aren’t made. A viewer from IG also pointed out a slow sign I pass right before the accident which I’ve never seen in my years of skiing/snowboarding there. Not the best place for a slow sign (off the trail to the left) if you ask me but it shuts down any argument I may have. For the record, I do like to go fast and always will but I believe it’s EVERYONES MOUNTAIN and we all need to do our part and keep it as safe as possible (MYSELF INCLUDED) while still having more fun than you could ever imagine of course! Hope I see some of you on slopes some day!

  2. Boarders fault going too fast for multiple skiers in front of him going slow making wide turns, and he's the one not making turns. Lucky for everyone that he put in jeopardy.

  3. As a basic rule, it's always the higher level rider's fault, especially when you go that fast. Also the slope counts. If this was on a blue slope and you're going that fast…it's on you.

  4. i agree that it is the snowboarder straight-lining without better control and assessment of the situation. However the guy shouldn't be using the whole slope either. That is rude. I use no more than half of the width of the trail at a time if it's narrow. if it's wide 1/4 or even less. be considerate of others faster than you

  5. Glad you have self awareness. Because cutting across an entire run is lame… but it is always the person at a higher elevation that yields. No matter what. Thanks for being man enough to post this. Ride safe brother. 🤘

  6. I’m not much of a skier and I still spotted the person you were going to hit well before you inserted the red arrow. It was obvious that he was leaning into a left turn that was going in the same direction you were.
As my time as a cyclist has taught me, it’s not enough to predict what someone else will do, you always have to assume that they’ll act as maliciously as possible (although it isn’t malicious here since they can’t see you).

  7. 1) Snowborarder was too fast so this is the frist cause of the issue. 2) In any situation who is coming from the behind MUST take care of anything or anyone has in front of himself, so the skier did not do anything wrong.

  8. Yeah, glad you know that it's your fault. If you get moving so fast that you are unable avoid another skier then you've already screwed up, even if the other skier does something you don't expect.

  9. I've been skiing for 15yrs. It's no one's "fault". He's just cruising along with what looks like his daughter. And you are just straightened out and sent it. Could argue it's your fault tho for not being able to avoid him. Had all the time in the world

  10. The skier got limited peripheral thru his goggles and helmet. In the blind not able to see you over his shoulder. Yes he could have check before crossing ….
Anticipate the traffic especially those behind the bumps…. Stay alert and safe. 😊

  11. At least you realized it was your fault. Just incase there's ever a time for a lawsuit. A ski mountain is a shared public space. I can speed on a country road, but if you're doing 150mph on a public road and slam into sonebody, you know who's at fault.

  12. Dad came out on a wide turn to protect his child.
I'm not a mean person but I do have kids.
I would have dropped the boarder, also.
Knuckle dragging a staightline on a beginner hill around children?
    Sorry, you're gonna eat it.
I am glad to read in the comments that he did learn from this incident.

  13. The person at the back should always be careful and anticipate what the people on the front are doing. You cannot expect from skiers to look back when they go down. The snowboarder here should have changed his direction to go to the right after seeing that the other skier was crossing and heading left.

  14. Your not really meant to bomb most hills so it depends on the specific slope your on at the park your meant to look behind you every direction change as well both of you are to blame
