I'm new to cycling but need to change the crank set. The one on my bike is a Lasco Alloy 22/32 175mm Arms w/Chain Cover. So I need a crank puller to remove this? If so, what type? TIA.
Make sure that the thread that goes into the crank is fully inserted. The crank thread is easily damaged if not. It’s possible that you need a lot of force to get it off the square taper if it’s a long time on it and/or installed completely dry.
Edit: Also it’s important to make sure that the pin in the middle that is pressed against the square taper to pull it off really fits through the hole and you are not applying force against the crank.
