I like rockshox. I always had a good experience with them. But I do prefer stability over weight, so I never bought a carbon fork.

What to buy? A torque wrench.
Enve or Whiskey probably have you covered. Just try and get as close to factory specs as you can. Axel to crown, rake, offset, tapered, non-tapered, and actual steer tube diameter.

Did you clamp lower than the compression plug?
