Edit: The consensus seems to be some sort of heel rub so I'm going to take it to my LBS to see if I can get it addressed and maybe something to prevent it from happening in the future. Thanks for all your feedback!
I purchased this gravel bike from a reputable second hand shop back in September. Although I clean it after every ride this is the first time I've noticed it, maybe because the sun is shining for a change. Personally I've never dropped it and it's stored carefully in my garage in between rides. I'm just worried it's potentially dangerous.
The bike in question is a 2023 Giant Revolt Advanced Pro 1.
A second opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Heel rub?
Looks like maybe a boot has rubbed it repeatedly?
Need to sort out cleat alignment.
Filler probably hasn’t been used, you are seeing some of the carbon under the paint.
I’d see about clear-coating the area but I doubt that is dangerous based only on your picture.
I agree with the users suggesting heel rub. It doesn’t have to have been your heel rubbing if you bought used.
