    Hello and happy Sunday!

I need a new crankset for my gravel bike. Unfortunately the current one has riveted, worn-out chainrings 💀

I see two options: [Sword Black 48-31 FC-G7900-48](https://www.microshift.com/models/fc-g7900-48/) or [Shimano Cues 46-30 FC-U6000-2](https://bike.shimano.com/en-AU/products/components/pdp.P-FC-U6000-2.html).

    Here is my setup:

    – Cassette Shimano HG400-8 11-40T

    – Rear derailleur Shimano M3020

    – Shifters Microshift R8

Both cranksets are compatible with 9 speed transmissions and chains, which makes me comfortable with the idea of mixing & matching HG with LG on my current 8 speed setup.

Cues is cheaper but would require changing my current square taper bottom bracket – but for a lighter one; I might live with that.

Which one would you pick and why? Do you see more interesting options, or potential issues with my setup?

    Thank you!

  2. Be aware that the Cues crank has a very wide Q-factor of 180mm (how wide apart your feet are) for a gravel bike. I can’t find what the wide Sword has (technically the BB axle width changes that too with square taper but the arms can still be wider or narrower). That may or may not be a problem for you, for me the extra width is a deal breaker. For context Shimano GRX is 151mm, Tiagra is 150mm, and 105 and above is 146mm.
