If you know where to look, the Nottinghamshire village of Bingham has a Linear Park which will take you along and out of the town, down an old, abandoned railway line. Naturally, nearer the town the route is nice and clear and easy to walk (or cycle) but if you’re like me, and you keep on walking, you’ll soon find the pathway gets a lot more rural and heavily overgrown. Is it still passable? Of course it is, with care and effort. It just takes a bit more willpower to keep on going – but the sights and sounds are totally worth it!
