    Ideal seat height will change for folks depending on a host of factors (and can change for individuals overtime).

    This doesn’t take crank-length in consideration. The 160 mm cranks on my EMTB make me sit higher than the 175 mm cranks on my MTB.

    looks like a lot of work to arrive at the “push down on your hip bone and raise the seat to your hand” method. i’ve always started there, and never needed to move the seat up or down more than a centimeter or two to arrive at the right height.

    does seem more scientific or appropriate to originate that measurement from the bb axle than the ground given the difference in bb heights though…

    if you’re doubting your seat height is correct this seems pretty spot on, dude landed right where he would have with the fast and dirty hipbone point of reference.
