Appears YT has quietly launched their 2025 lineup of Izzo trail bikes. Gone is the Core 4 build with YT only offering Core 1, 2, and 3.
It seems like the build kit for each has gotten a bit of a downgrade from the models last year. Last year Core 3 featured rockshox Pike Ultimate suspension and SRAM Eagle transmission (can’t recall which one). I was really keen on that build plus the banana frame was beautiful.
This years Core 3 has Ohlins fork and rear suspension, which admittedly I’ve only heard great things about but never ridden. Then all Core levels seem to have had a slight downgrade to lower end Shimano SLX RD-7100 drivetrain and the 2 and 1 also sport more basic Rockshox Select suspensions…
Any thoughts? Would be curious to hear opinions on the Ohlins but I might keep an eye on Pinkbike for a banana core 3 from last year..

IMO ohlins was an upgrade while the drivetrains got downgraded. I’d wait to see what they do for their uncaged editions. Not a fan of their two tone paint schemes. The previous models had up to ‘core 5’ so I wonder if they just haven’t released core 4 or 5 yet.
Brilliant. Doubling down on the Blaze build (130/140) which was the best Izzo they ever released. While ditching the unfortunate SX/NX builds, which is a trend also in the new Capras and hopefully in the next Jeffsy releases whenever that happens.
Sadly the frames are still press fit but that’s not a huge deal. All their carbon frames still are, though the new alloy frames switched to threaded. Which is epic.
Also the loewst end Izzo now features that Bomber shock with the sweep adjust, which effectively means you can get a cool compression feature for cheaper than before. As the low end model had the base Deluxe that didn’t even have lock out before.
The Ohlins is clearly a superior option, given that shocks high and low speed compression adjusting. And it looks great in that black, but yeah sadly no yellow.
I don’t even think the GX transmission model was that cool. Not bad but I’d way rather have Ohlins with XT for 500 less…
Plus the coolest color was CLEARLY the pink core 1 model but… Then you are swapping most of the parts lol. SX sux
It is a bummer this seemingly means only the super expensive one is full carbon but I guess that’s been the case for a while. You have one option instead of two now. It is what it is. I don’t think the core 2 is all that compelling right now. Budget buyers are going to go core 1, and ballers aren’t even going to have a sniff at the 2 model. Maybe I’m wrong, dunno. I mean that’s kinda always the case. Mid range gets neglected for a variety of reasons in this industry.
