  1. It’s probably level enough. Remember: “Measure twice, cut once.” What do you think of the Pinion gearbox?

  2. I kinda like the top of my rack to be level. You also don’t appear to need the setback mounts for that frame. Those are usually only necessary for road bikes with tucked rear wheels and super short chain stays to eliminate heel/panniers interference.

    Sweet ride. I kinda want a Viral Derive, but I’m still nervous about some of the reviews I’ve seen on Pinion’s electronic shifting.

  3. I don’t like the handling of panniers sitting behind the center of the wheel or whatever load you are carrying.

    Can you mount the rack in front of the dropouts? It looks like there is a hole for it.

    I prefer my rack to be just slightly tilted forward, just like how you have it. I agree with someone above, I would remove the extensions at the drop outs if you don’t need that much top of the tire clearance for fenders or crazy mud or anything. I like my rack about 1/2″ – 3/4″ above the tire. I bet if you rode it for a while, you’d forget you were ever concerned.
