Hello, I would like to buy an Endurace CF 7 and am still unsure about the size. I am 172 cm tall and have a stride length of 83.5 cm. The internet recommended size S and I went to Canyon in Koblenz and they recommended S first. I first tried bikes in S and then a salesman said I should try xs. He said it looked to him as if the xs was more suitable for me. I didn't notice a big difference myself, but I'm also a total beginner, so I can't judge it very well. I'm now a bit confused as to which size I should order. I was a bit inclined towards S simply because I find the slightly larger frame visually nicer than in xs. But I know that's not a real argument. What do you think?

I believe the chart is pretty obvious, but you can get any size you want

Im 170-171 cm and ride an XS Endurace AL, the picture is how I currently have the seat and bars set up
I think you’d be fine fitting on an XS honestly, but the fit would be more aggressive. The small would just have a little more relaxed riding position.
It all kinda depends on what you want out of the bike. Also if you have kinda long arms the reach of the XS might force you to get a longer stem, but that’s a different thing.
The canyon calculator leaves out things like arm length, so that’s also has a factor. In general the advice is to size down if you’re unsure, but I do think you’re at point where both bikes would “fit” you, it just depends on how you want to ride the bike.
I am 178 and Canyon recommended S for Endurace. I went for it because M has too much standover for me(Long Torso). I just sold my endurance to someone who was 171cm. They find it perfect when test riding. Just wanted to put out there. I personally like roomy cockpit I went for 56cm new bike and I feel more comfortable than Endurace S which is 54.
I have the same bike model (XS) and almost the same height (173).
My stride length is 79,5cm. You should go with an S. No doubt in my mind
