G’day y’all,
Just finished building up a 2014 Specialized TriCross with TRP Spykes. The fixed cable guide on the caliper doesn’t have much clearance to allow for smooth cable routing which is definitely noticeable at the lever.
I was thinking a V brake noodle might work but to smooth out the cable path but definitely open to suggestions.
Cheers

use the v-brake flex noodle. you’re spot on.
Have you tried routing it on the other side of the chainstay? Also, if you tightened the barrel adjuster on the caliper all the way in, the few mm you gain might help a bit. It would limit you to adjusting the brake at the brake lever though. I’ve never personally needed two points of adjustment anyway.
If you do end up using a v-brake noodle, I’d love an update and pic…..it sounds cool.
