  1. A majority are heavier than a lightweight traditional carbon/aluminum lightweight rim build contemporary. They’re also not overly great for riding in most real world conditions. I also personally think they can throw off the proportions on some frames from an aesthetics point of view.

But people here love them. Does weight matter that much, if the overall performance is trash anyway? Or if the frame is heavy? Or if you have heavy tubes and stiff sidewall tires that are also heavy? Are you riding at the velodrome?

Decide what your goals are, and be honest about why you want them. But at the end of the day, do what you want

  2. They’re definitely not light. When I had one it was bombproof and ran smooth as hell, though, so I didn’t mind the weight.

  3. Imo not really weight but you’ll get side winds that’ll make the bike feel heavy. I had a tri in the back and aero in the front and it was horrible. Looked cool but not worth it..
