You first pop of the rear part that covers the gear hub and the gear cable/little chain. Then you can most likely loosen the bottom part of the cover by pressing in a latch at the rear end of that bottom part. The top part is just pushed down into some metal parts (most likely one around the bottom bracket and maybe a small metal part on the chain stay)
I had a cover similar to this … not sure if they are exactly the same though. Try it and take a few good hard looks at the casing all around. I think the tape in the front is also there for a reason 😉

The only thing chainguards guard against is from you being able to work on your bike.
