Come with me as I explore my hometown and take in what it is really like in 2024, Peterborough. Voted constantly as one of the worst places to live in the UK, and recently one of the most depressing. I venture around to show what the camera sees with my own eyes, a couple of interviews and seeing what the state of disrepair a 1865 WW1 & WW2 medical hospital for the veterans and how its been shut down.
More to come as I venture around and show what I can see, bringing what you might not see or hear but this is Britain, broken in 2024.

Any city had bad areas if you you go searching for them. Peterborough is no worse than any other place.

I am Peterborough born and bred and grew up in the Eastfield area when the city was much smaller than it is now.
There was no mattresses or rubbish on street corners, or any homeless in city centre.

I worked down millfield for 2 years its lawless down there my first day working down there some young lads got stabbed up for selling crack on another dealers turf its crazy i avoid this part of Peterborough as much as possible
I moved to Peterborough from London in 76 and it was a new town for the London over spill places like bretton and ravensthorp ,I'm now 62 and disgusted how its changed since Tony Blair opened the flood gates and feel totally unsafe in this era of dystopia. Millfield, Gladstone street, Cromwell rd areas are no go zones with Asian and eastern European migrants selling crack and heroin I see it from my window on a daily basis. Sad times indeed.
Good old norfolk for live music, oh what fun days, who would have thought wed be taken over and our infrastructure ruinned. Britain RIP.
I was born and bred in Paston, grew up arounf aload of people what influenced me to do certain stuff, you had gangs of lads what would try intimidating you for no reason whatsoever, throughout the years, it has gotten worse day by day. To this day i still live down Paston and i am still a young chap. I avoid myself from the gangs and i keep myself to myself, i focus on my job and my family as they are my first prioritys. You should go check out Paston and record a video on the state of the place, its so deprived honestly.

I'm watching your video with tears in my eyes, I was born in 1944 and left in 1966 just at the time the developement began. Where are the councellors who are responsible for this carnage. Is there a police station anywhere that the police are in because they obviously don't venture out to keep citizens safe.

Was brought up in peterborough. Was not so bad. Joined the army, travelled the world lived in a few places ,came back here in 2005 ,I thought i was in another country so many foreigners that were here ,now because of,the influx of migrants, peterborough has gone down the toilet .I fought for queen and country. If I knew it would turn out like this, I would never have joined, I feel ashamed to be called British, this country is doomed to failure .God bless you and your family. Lee 🙏
Lived in Peterborough for 33 years. Best thing I ever done was to move out 13 years ago. I avoid it like the plague now.
Not all Peterborough is like that. I live in Peterborough and where I live we take pride in the area. Start exposing the type of people that leave it in that state, you live there, you know the types.

I worked in Peterborough 2015/2016 doing external wall insulation. I can’t how much as shut down from then.. Lincoln rd area is really rough and that’s where we worked most. It’s Asian area with a few Eastern Europeans and they don’t give a shit about it. There was a lovely sandwich shop that had been there years and that got shut while I was there…
Bull& dolphin was a great pub as was the Norfolk.I miss them so much
The worst places in 🇬🇧 are practically paradise in 🇺🇸 on a much larger scale. And without a national health system.

Peterborough used to have an optimistic vibe. As a kid, crowing up in Bretton and Werrington, no one ever explained the concept to us, but we intuitively understood that this was modern, new and different. Those shiny new estates were the consequence of some really smart urban planning that prioritized social spaces – with small green areas, over the tower blocks that dominated the skylines of other cities. But looking at this depressing video – it’s clear my home city lost its leadership. Whoever the f**k the last few MP’s were/are should be ashamed of themselves. Reading the comments, it’s clear that a lot of people blame the rise in immigration, which I completely understand. But from where I’m standing, I’m seeing the symptoms of a creeping disparity between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’. Knocking down the Peterborough market to create a load of expensive apartments in the middle of a cultural desert says it all. That market was one of the few places you could shop but also get to know your fellow ‘Peterborian’, through friendly banter and bit of market haggling. Whoever is on Peterborough city council is making a packet at the expense of Peterborough citizens. Don’t blame the people that live in Peterborough. Blame the ones that claim to run it. They need to be held accountable. That’s the only way to turn this sad ‘Peterborough Effect’ around.
Can take you to Bournemouth or Poole in fact many places and show you the same situation. Not just Peterborough. It's called years of neglect from councils that were starved of cash from government and of course downhill from farage and brexit still waiting for his 350mill a week for NHS promised 😮

New to you channel. Just Subscribed to your channel. Fortunately I only go once to Peterborough once a year to the Beer Festival. Walking through the City Centre is a bit of a culture shock. I could have been in Eastern Europe, Pakistan, or Africa. I had heard from several locals that Lincoln Road was bad. I am glad I did not visit it. You can see your concern about your City. Keep up the good work. Try a day in Luton, even worse than Peterborough ! I wish you all the best.
Yeah im from Boro, i think our city will be the first non British city in a few short years. All the old shops are being taken over etc…, its only because we have Tescos and Asda that you're reminded this is England at times.
