Cycling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and a recent ride to Halesowen outdoor velodrome – one of the last of its kind in the UK – had me reflecting on how it all began.

Grassroots cycling plays such a huge role in shaping the future of our sport. From picking up my first bike at age 4 and racing BMX to finding a way to channel my ADHD diagnosis and school struggles into something positive, cycling became my passion and my escape. Competing in the now infamous Tuesday Night NSC League on the Isle of Man helped me climb the ranks, all while being inspired by the incredible success of Mark Cavendish.

In this video, I discuss the importance of supporting grassroots cycling clubs, discovering the next generation of professionals, and why role models like Cav are crucial to inspiring young riders.

👉 My journey from BMX to racing at the NSC League
👉 Moving to Europe to persue my dream as a teenager
👉 How cycling helped me overcome challenges with ADHD and school

  1. What an era mate!🥹🚴
I think the earliest memory of cycling for me was with a ‘monkey jungle’ bike, no brakes and down a small gravel hill with my dad cheering “just hold on” 😂

I believe that’s left me with a wild outlook on riding, to just hold on and ride bikes it’s the best fun and so much freedom especially when I was growing up 🙌🚴

Funny how I’m still out here riding with the same ole methods haha sick content mate keep it up!
