When the Qatari state acquired 70% of Paris Saint-Germain in 2011, and the remaining 30% in 2012, PSG had only ever won two Ligue 1 titles.
They have since won ten out of the last twelve Ligue 1 titles, seven trebles, and five quadruples, whilst almost every other professional football club in France has either already collapsed or is on the verge of collapsing.
In this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at the enormous financial disparities in Ligue 1, the impact that it has had on the league, and why French football now finds itself in such a sorry state.

Actually PSG are only the 5th largest net spenders of the last decade.
1. Chelsea (over two billion, half of it since the new owners took over)
2. City
3. United
4. Juve
5. PSG
This is why we need an NFL style salary cap
Excellent video Alfie. I’ve long been thinking that the crisis so many French clubs fate was in part their fault but didn’t realise it ran this deep. Worst club in world football?
😩😩😩😩😩😩😂😂😂😂😂😂

Excellent video about the actual shitty state of French Football and the fact that the PSG's domination since 2012 did more harm than good. I'm really worried about the state of the Ligue 1 & Ligue 2 championships because of the issue of the television rights, the negotiations for which were conducted in a very questionable manner by Vincent Labrune with the complicity of the Qatari State and most of the presidents of Ligue 1 clubs.
I fear that the crisis will reach its peak this year, with the probable consequence of the bankruptcy of many historic clubs, unless the League and the French Federation of Football finally take concrete measures such as the imposition of a salary cap and betting more on young players and and their continuing education. One thing is certain: Vincent Labrune will not remain at the head of the LFP for long.
the people demand you write another book alfie
Who gives a fuck if PSG has investments from Qatar. At the end of the day PSG isn't stopping anyone else from getting money to compete. The only reason you guys dislike PSG is because they went from being an afterthought to the top dogs of french football. No one was complaining when Marseille had a rich owner but i guess PSG is where hypocrital football fans draw the line
So what I am hearing is Paris SG Football Manager Build A Nation save with the aim of Ligue 1 toppling the premier league
One crucial thing that you miss about redistribution of TV rights money is that PL top6 get more money from abroad broadcasting and sells of the league to foreign markets so they care less about sharing some % to other midtable PL clubs. It doesnt effect them. So it's not as if PL top6 care so much about competition in PL that they agree to share a bit (it's not 50% anyway) – they just get way more from abroad and from CL. And for Bayern or Madrid and Barcelona sharing TV rights money not on basis of previous performance but on defined % might weaken them against EPL competition that gain billions from abroad deals. That what they fear. They are forced to compete with PL big money clubs. If you dont compete with the best, then what is the point? Insane money flow in PL since 2000s (from Chelsea onwards) created such situation in which other Euro top big clubs had to gain more financial might in order not be left behind. Bayern, Barca, Madrid or Serie A top teams dont get such overseas TV deals that PL top6 get so obviously they would hesitate to share more with other clubs in their league. Situation is complicated and right solution is hard to find. If you agree to share more with other clubs in your league then you probably will have to accept that you wouldnt be able to sign hot player on the market and would lose many top talents to PL clubs and then you would struggle to compete with those PL clubs in CL and slowly you would lose your standing in Europe and become a mere springboard or stepping stone. Of course, your league might become more competitive in a process or may be not and there would be no guarantee that it would attract more viewers from abroad. Serie A is more competitive now because of decline of Juventus but does it attract more viewers and make Serie A most watched? No.

It would be nice to go a whole day without one or more of these stupid "[insert player / club] BROKE Football" videos in my feed…
Spending massive money on Messi was the biggest mistake PSG had made in the past decade. Had they managed to continue on its path of buying and developing young players and maybe sign CR7 the GOAT on a cheap (<30mil Euro) transfer they would be ahead of Bayern Munich and at least a top 8 if not top 4 European football club right now.
But what can I say, the Qatari board of directors were fooled by the false narrative created by the Argentinian football mafia and they will have to live with the damages for a while.
Seems like PSG has turned French football into bankruptcy. The dangerous impact of uncontrolled spending, but when oil has the power, it happens.
I heard that the other paris team is ridiculously rich with Bernard arnult and red bull.
Does anyone here know the history of many so-called big clubs? well, there are mafia teams and Nazi teams who benefited from the criminal acts. Bayern and Madrid. Everyone hates PSG bc of money, but Manchester City was the same, and Chelsea as well. talk about them next.
PSG is boss in France..all the haters go suck a lemon. 💙❤️
