Day 2 of our Balkan motorcycle adventure took an unexpected turn. After a scenic ride along the stunning Danube and through lush Serbian forests, things went south as Mihai had a crash on a slippery curve near Majdanpek.
This episode takes you through the moments after the crash: from picking up the bike and ensuring Mihai’s safety to our visit to the local hospital (and even being questioned by the police!). Along the way, we learned about the challenges of riding in unfamiliar terrain, the kindness of strangers, and how good food and zip-tied ice packs can lift spirits.

I am glad there are no serious injuries there!
But with your experience riding bikes, you should read asphalt, from the moment you get to this road (it can be seen on the video after a sharp right turn) asphalt from many many trucks (and mine dust) is extremely slippery and you should spot it early.
I went there and drove cautiously and still asphalt can be felt as slippery.
Looks like a trail of something showing discolouration to tarmac where front wheel slid out.

The gear priority for adv biking goes like this: Helmet, boots. impact protection, clothes. Don't ride in bad shoes, a broken arm heals well, a foot might not. But I commend you taking your time to record the cute cat at the hospital 🙂
Majdanpek is known for its highly slippery streets. take care when driving on unknown roads, always feel your road with your feet before actually leaning the bike and hoping the tyre will hold.

I'm sorry that you had an accident in Serbia. I am always careful when I drive on Serbian roads, there is a lot of dirt, old trucks and vehicles that leak oil and antifreeze.. If you had boots, you would probably pass without injury..
Did you find what was the reason for the crash like oil, moisture, dust … ???
