Built up this ratty old Muirwoods into a respectable ripper! Took it down to the frame, cleaned it up, and wound up replacing nearly all of the original components. This was my first time doing a full teardown and rebuild with many lessons along the way – including the only LBS assist coming after I nearly ended the entire project early by getting an ill fitting bottom bracket hopelessly stuck in the shell. She’s a bit rusty but saved from an eternity in storage or the landfill! Bonus awesome sticker and before shot.

Nice ride. The seat post looks like it costs as much as the rest of the bike – other than that I love it!

P.s. the seat post only had me scratching my head a little, if it works for you then it works. Could easily cost less than I’m imagining as well!

Fantastic build! I have a ‘95 with a purple fork that’s almost “complete.” It rides real nice as is but I want to get some lighter 32h rims and nicer hubs. I have it built up with all the Paul/XTR/XT bling, but it’s running the stock Acera hubs and Araya GP-710 wheels.
