I picked both of these up today. The grass green one in the front is a Specialized Stumpjumper and the yellow/greenish one is a Diamondback Division 2. I got the Stumpjumper for $30 and the Division bike for $100. I assembled the Division bike and it rides so smoothly, but the seat and pedals are the first things I’m replacing on that thing.

Any recommendations to make these ride better? Any advice helps, I know close to nothing about bikes.

  1. Take it to a shop & get a tune up. Based on the stickers I’m gonna assume that Diamondback has been to an REI for service so they could have it’s work order history on file. Everything on it looks stock & brand new so if it needs anything it’s just a lube up. The stumpjumper is certainly older & more used.

The pedals on the DB are honestly dope I’d keep those personally but I suppose you aren’t intending to clip in, so fine.

A tune up is going to make sure everyone is shifting & braking right, new cables help a lot, clean up & tighten everything that has bearings in it & of course theyll.be able to just assess it for free generally. At REI they’ll assess it for free anyway.
