Very long? It's only just over 11 miles which is nothing on a bike, lol. I've walked the full length many times and twice went on to continue the walk down beside the Trent to cranfleet lock, back onto the Trent path, up to the canal at Beeston then all the way into Nottingham City and once I then continued via road all the way back to Ilkeston, lol.

You can always tell when your coming towards Ilson, the clouds start gathering
