We took Oliver to the Pyrenees with cycling journalist Peter Cossins, and they both rode the whole of Stage 17. Even though it’s just 65Km long, it’s definitely one of the most terrifying stages of this year’s Tour de France. 1. This video is great as it makes you know and then feel the pressure of these climbs all the way here in Trinidad & Tobago. Surely they must partially improve the surface through that tunnel……AND please make a concerted effort to keep the spectators from impeding the cyclists. A pity we won’t see Nibli on this stage; I predict Nairo will attack and …….implode. If not what will he, can he do?!?!

  2. I must say that this is a wonderful video, which reminds me of my 6 month/6 country European cycling tour 48 years ago. Little seems changed on the best mountain roads since then. A big THUMBS UP from the Big Island, HI.

  3. I see Quintana and Landa trying to explode early and try to destroy the whole general classification. Could be a tough day for Tommy, but he can probably stay with the two Britains and maybe attack them. His advantage could be, that he needs no teammates, or maybe only one.

  4. Incredible… I'm huffing and puffing just looking. Q: why do boxers breathe through the nose and cyclists through the mouth ???

  5. Ollie needs some +4mm SPD or some longer speedplays.. watch closely. I’m a certified internet trained bike fitter. Will bike via Skype. Holla

  6. From a sport aficionado it is refreshing to listen to this podcast reflection on each stage of Le Tour. Our feed on ESPN (Caribbean) is particularly disconcerting – the interruptions on the coverage with clips about upcoming sport events and even including clips about the Tour, imagine!!!! One is watching the Tour and coverage is broken to advertise the very Tour I am trying to watch. What crap!!!!!$&&?&@

It is against this backdrop that I immerse myself in The Move and the various video clips on the YouTube Le Tour. Lance, your incisive comments and personal views coupled with George’s unflappable disposition especially when you are cranky,(smiles) makes The Move a MUST WATCH for me here in Trinidad and Tobago. Thank you, thank you and thank the questioner who has a great sense of The persons in the studio. Great interview process. Cheers!

  7. This is the chance for Nairo Quintana (Nairoman) to win the Tour de France…..Full team strategy attack from the beginning…great covering for this stage.

  8. For the climb stages where there are unruly spectators and no barriers, the motorbikes should act as outriders just ahead to keep these dickheads back off the road.

  9. Great video of a great stage. My wife & I love the Pyrenees so much (& me le Tour also) so last month for our first hol in 6 years we stayed in Saint Lary Soulan for a week – 'twas fab!
I rode the Col du Portet, the Azet, the Peyresourde & a few others. Thanks for the video – it helped me relive my rides whilst on the turbo recovering from a hernia op. Merci beaucoup. 🙂
