Day 4 of cycling from Coimbra to Algarve was such a rollercoaster of emotions…from extreme happiness to frustration in a few minutes and vice-versa, but seldom bored!
But honestly, I love how much little things like the sun, the village cafes, getting to my final destination before sunset and being by the beach can bring. And primarily when I’m on my adventures when there is little to no luxury, these things can make my day. I feel like I learned to appreciate life even more just by going on these trips cause it helps you put things into perspective.
In this video I also talk more about the village cafes and how important they and the locals there were for me. The places where I got boiling water for my oats, where I charged my phone, where I got recommendations for the roads to follow or places to visit, and where I got to experience kindness from a lot of Portuguese people.
About this bike trip cycling across Portugal (you can already find the first vlog here – https://youtu.be/oiGTKi62lqw):
This is the first of 9 vlogs about my bike trip in Portugal (my home country).
This is something I wanted to do for a long time after meeting a lot of bike packers. I travel a lot myself, but usually by bus or hitchhiking, so I wanted to experience the freedom of bike travelling and to get to know my country better. Going from Coimbra (center Portugal) to Algarve (South) can be done in only 450km, but because I had a lot of things I wanted to visit, my plan added up to 700km.
Throughout this series, I want to share all the adventures, the struggles, the beautiful beaches and the things I learned.
Stick for the ride!
