I'm still very new to Fatbiking. I'd seen plenty of videos saying that Fatbikes still need groomed trails if the snow is deep. I didn't truly understand until today.

I was planning to go to a local MTB trail system that is surely packed or groomed, but I didn't have time. Decided to run the trail behind my house instead. There were occasional sxs tracks, but at least half of it was just fluff. That limited me to just shy of 2.5miles. 1/3 of which was hike-a-bike and the other 2/3 was mostly me just trying my hardest not to crash. I failed in that latter endeavor at least 5x.

I know understand why people don't like clipless pedals in the snow. I still think I prefer them so I can maximize control and power, but I will admit to not unclipping a couple times. Fortunately they were falls at about 2mph.
