This week we’re in Formby with the Roscommon Solstice Choir, paying tribute to the great works of Percy French.
“Are Ye Right There Michael?”, “The Mountains of Mourne”, “Phil the Fluter’s Ball” and dozens of other songs and poems were all written over a hundred years ago by Percy French.
Born in County Roscommon, Percy wrote of everyday life, and the longing for Ireland and home!
Percy is laid to rest at St Luke’s in Formby along with his cousin, Canon John Richardson and every year, a special service takes place to celebrate his life.
Join us and the Roscommon Solstice Choir for a great evening of singing along!

Well done, I enjoyed it very much. Melodies my grandma used to hum, warmed my heart.
