Maybe a bit hard to tell from the photo but the shaft the thru axle runs through is not centered in the cassette. I had a spoke break and then replaced at a shop, and I've gone to put the wheel back on and the cassette is rubbing on the frame.

I'm a bigger guy (for now hopefully) and the spoke broke about a mile from home so I just limped it back. I'm guessing that's what caused this to happen. I'm a little bit surprised that the shop didn't pick it up when they were trueing the wheel but what would I know.

I had planned on having the wheel replaced anyway, going from 1 cross to 2 cross and from bladed to round spokes but now am I also looking at a new hub or Freehub I guess.

I have just gotten a set of Hunts with 32 spokes which should keep me going for now but I'd like to get this set repaired unless I'm being ridiculous.

  1. I’m going to leave this up for a bit as a monument to my own incompetence but turns out the shop just didn’t tighten the cassette down properly.
