Thanks mate for another good episode , I’ve watched all of them. One thing about the names of the Flemish towns is that most ppl covering the history seem to use the French name . I’ve lived here for a year in the past bike racing and I always used the Flemish names . Mesen is the Flemish name and it’s pronounced – Mayzen. Keep up the great vids.

Love watching your travels through these historic places, but what a totally sobering piece regarding your uncle. I'm glad the story had a happy ending. My grandfather suffered with what is now known as PTSD after WW1 and in his convalescence he also began a woodworking class. I have a lot of that furniture he made including the desk I'm sat at typing. Unfortunately it wasn't enough and he never really recovered from it. People like him and your uncle will never know how much we respect them for what they did and what they endured. Will the world ever learn ? 100 years plus later and we still have human beings killing each other in trenches.
