I am planning to purchase Marin dsx 2

I've noticed that their geometry's stack is a bit shorter than the other brands

How was your experience with regards to sizing and bike fit?

My height is 176.5 cm and inseam is around 84 cm, a bit longer legs compared to the torso).
Should I size up or stay at M, what the brand recommends
Overall experience with the bike with regard to bikepacking comfort ?since I am planning to install surly’s corner bars too

  2. I’m 177, 86ish legs.
I got me an L version and don’t regret it even tho I didn’t ever had a bike fitting to prove that I got the right size.

Check my account for pictures of the bike fully loaded with some jabbering about the bike itself.

    To sum it up:
I love the bike as it is super versatile and I had no problem loading as much clutter on it as possible.
Only the 1×12 setup isn’t the perfect choice when heavy loaded and climbing very steep.
And I got me some inner barends. Game changer for sure.

Going up a size is a good idea. I consider the bike to be a lighter version of an XC bike. The deore shifter is nice for hills. You can click through and shift 3 gears quickly. I didn’t like the rear hub. The bearings in the freehub wore out quickly. The bottom bracket wasn’t very good either. Have a shimano saint on there now. The i22 rim with the 142 hub with 12 speed micro spline is hard to find if you ever need to replace or have a second wheelset. The crankset doesn’t allow you to change chainrings if you ever wanted to. It is kind of a silly hybrid bike with mountain bike gearing.

But my dsx2 is 2 years old. The new ones have different specs.
