  1. How windy do we think Bouverie Square will be? Everyone will be literally blown away! Just so whoever moves into the old Saga building has a nicer view. Maybe we should fix the bigger problems and wasted space before faffing up the roads around middleburg square and shellons street.

  2. Not some bad ideas there, but let's sort out the state of the town centre first. No good doing all this if there's no reason to go to the town centre in the first place, desperately need to attract businesses and people. Unless the town centre will become part residential? Also the garden square could end up being a hotspot for drug use and dealing etc, but at the end of the day. This is just a selling point for the proposed flats

  3. Fantastic, so it gives us slightly better access to checks notes vape shops, gambling shops, phone repair shops, hairdressers and newsagents.

Also what view are you proposing people will enjoy sitting in the old bus terminus? Some chavs hanging around smoking weed on the swings with a backdrop of a multi storey car park?

  4. Can you chill with the traffic lights.

Zebra crossings work fine, almost everytime I stop at a light no one's crossing because they already crossed after pressing the button.

  5. If Dover is an example of how to spend Levelling up money then do not bother. It has some fantasy ideas and the Maison Dieu being the recipient of most of the money but the Zelensky pothole just get bigger and better. As for the ‘car wash’ in the market square that was an example of how to spread a liberal amount of money to the ‘Brothers and their companies with nothing that improves the place.

  6. I just do not understand why the council are spending all this money changing road directions and putting in new traffic lights, 20mph speed limits, cycle lanes etc to slow all the traffic down. Putting in new gardens and green spaces when they could have saved the sports centre with the money.

  7. Could have saved a lot of time by saying, "bus station will be a park, Middleburg square will have 2 way traffic, Shellons street will have a bridge and pretty colours will be put on the road in collaboration with our partners at the WEF"

I bet this video cost us more than the re branding from Shepway to F&H too.

  8. What’s happening with Shellons street? According to this they shut access to it from the motorcycle dealership yet they are building a bridge over it to reconnect the two halves of guildhall street. A bridge over what? A disused two lane road? Some grass? What?

  9. Another complete waste of money like the chaos now in Cheriton Road. Who wants to go to the town centre anyway. Hardly any shops. Not enough parking. Better to build some affordable housing for the homeless.

  10. This is going to cost a fortune and achieve nothing but massively reduce the ability to get into the town. Honestly I’m staggered at the mentality of the people who come up with this rubbish

  11. The area that was the bus station now to be a park, is one of the coldest areas in town due to the wind off the sea and its elevation! Another road that needs fixing ASAP is the Road of Rememberance!

  12. Why no disabled parking outside the Central Chemist and shops??? How do drivers get from town to Foord Rd/Grace Hill without a long diversion or cutting through a residential area via the single lane tunnel??? What with the Road of Rememberance being almost permanenly close, half the town has been cut off! Every time officialdom interferes they ruin everything!! And great that you are blaming everybody, but this is the first I have heard of this scheme and in all likelihood too late for the consultation, but, that's the way officialdom likes it!!

  13. Good to see safer crossings. I would go further and pedestrianise a safe route along Cheriton Road from Folkestone Central to the harbour for people to enjoy without speeding cars and the pollution this brings. Need to end the reliance on cars and encourage cycling and walking

  14. This is going to be hell. What percentage of Folkestone residents are cyclists? What a waste of money. It looks like a more miserable future to me.
