Previously when I had my bike built by a shop, I was using a different stem. I don’t remember seeing this gap. Now that I have changed stem I noticed this gap. If I somehow managed to close the gap and have the bung flush, then I would have a bigger gap between my stem cap and my stem. Is this an issue? Should I get the [velobike steerer extender](https://www.velobike.co.nz/products/steerer-tube-extender)? Or maybe a shorter headset cover ? I prefer more than less stack though

Make sure you torque the expander bolt at a maximum of 7-8nm. This ensures the expander doesn’t slip out again, but also ensures the carbon doesn’t crack.
