Snow has arrived in my town and I was not prepared for it 🙂 currently running 700×28 road tires, and I think I’ve got the front and rear clearance for a pair of Michelin Protek tires. And fenders are a must, I’ve learned 😅
Highly recommend the SKS surfboard fenders, they come with really nice mudflaps and get closer to the ground than any of the other fenders I’ve seen on the market.
Remember, the closer to your tire and to the ground, the more of the splashing and spraying they catch.

I wouldn’t go too much wider or you’re going to just ride on top of the snow and slip and slide everywhere. I have a 700×38 studded on the front and 700×42 on the rear for the winter and wish I had gone thinner for both.
