Even if dooring wouldn't be a thing, I would not ride in the dooring zone. Simply because there is no space to get overtaken safely. Someone would always take it as an invitation, if you ride next to the cars.
Not just doors, also distracted pedestrians, children and animals emerging from between parked vehicles. It's also why cars should slow right down on these streets.

To me, the idea of a 'door zone' is so weird. Especially considering that the concept comes from even more car-centric countries.
Do people not check before opening their door into potential car traffic?
Dutch reach method is recommended now for opening doors. Sadly not all peeps do this and swing their door open without checking for cyclists.
I learnt staying out of the door zone the hard way
Thought the Amazon driver would have waited until you passed before opening his door 👍👍
Perfect example/demonstration.
That's the way I ride down them street's.
I always ride outside the door zone passing parked cars and if that « annoys » drivers behind, tough.
You're not a car go around it

Passengers do it as well when accessing the footpath. Twats with no consideration.
It’s primary position. Take the lane.
