Short story is I got upgrade-itis on my MTB had a cassette installed (sun race 9 spd to replace the original Shimano) by shop when getting the rims trued and it’s touching the frame. Exact same cluster for the most part same speed same teeth only now that I’ve tried to install it I’ve noticed this. Shop closed for a week so curious has anyone had similar issues with sunrace components because I might need to order a new one online if this is not something I can do anything about. Any ideas?

I’d take the wheel out and check that there’s ~5mm of axle after the last locknut on both sides of the wheel. In this case on the cassette side I’d expect their to be less than 5mm causing the cassette to catch on the frame. 9sp, regardless of manufacturer, doesn’t normally need any kind of special hub or spacing
