I want to build a bike, and I see huge price differences between these two forks. Like, huge.
Even between different models of SID I see huge price leaps but can’t figure out the differences.

Can anyone enlighten me? Also, are the more expensive ones worth it? Is the Fox worth it? I’m not a pro rider, I just want it to be comfortable, compliant and effective for a trail-downcountry type of bike.

So with the two SIDs it’s old vs new revision.
The older fork (which I run on my bike) only has open/close and some people have had problems with bushing play (mine has been fine so far).
The newer version comes with a new damper, a middle position lockout setting for pedaling and has more bushing overlap to mitigate the play issue of the previous version. Also uses some different lube or something.
No idea about Fox.
Like I said, I run the 2020 version of the SID ultimate, had it on my Chisel and have transferred it to my new Epic Evo and so far I love it! It’s a confidence inspiring fork in comparison to a Judy or a Reba, that’s for sure.
EDIT:
Forgot to add, if you want to adjust low and high speed compression etc, then the especially the previous gen SID is not for you. It’s air pressure, rebound, open/close … that’s it.
I sorta like that because I just want to ride and not faff around with settings, but everyone is different …
