I have S&M Reynolds grips, and they are, by far, my all time favorite grip, however, this is my brake lever side, and I’m removing my old brakes to make way for my new brake set, and I wondered to myself, is this preventable? If not, whatever! They are only $12 bucks

It’s really not. Grips are a wear item, and they’re cheap. Just replace them once they get too tore up.

I hate flanges. I’d always get blisters with them. I cut them off now. Replacing them is cheap enough. I don’t see a way to prevent them from getting damaged.
i like flanges too and i ride brakeless.

I buy lots of grips when they’re on sale. Got some of my favorite Fit tech flanged grips for like $5 a pair, some Eclats for $6, and a pile of BSD that were dirt cheap.
