So its my first time ever installing a derrailleur. And i managed to dial it in, set the limit screws etc, but i cant help but feel like when i go into the lower geara its overectemding.
I would add more chain, but in the lower gears the chain has too much slack. Am i missing something here?

A little context:
Its my first time ever installing any derraileur.
And i cant help but feel its a bit too extended.
I dialed it in, setting limit screws and such.
I tried adding more chain, but its already quite slack on the harder gears…
Nope, looks good!
Longer chain
>Is this derraileur overextended?
If you are asking whether the chain is too short, we would need to see a photo of the drivetrain in the big chainring / big cassette cog in order to answer that question.
>the lower gears the chain has too much slack.
Well not really. In the pic showing the chain in the small/small combo, the derailleur is still taking up slack, which means that the chain is not too long.
Check to make sure the derailleur you got is for the cassette you have. Make sure it’s for a 12-45 or what ever you have cuz the hanger seems a bit small usually cassette with large cogs run a hanger that’s super long they have different sizes aswell, like small medium- large so check to make sure you got the right derailleur for your cassette
Your b-link isn’t mounted to the derailleur hanger correctly. Basically the derailleur has been mounted incorrectly.
The black piece between your silver hanger and the RD itself needs to be rotated clockwise more.
