Hi, i am unsure of what bottom bracket to get for my bike. It says bb30 on the frame, but i have seen people buy pf30 instead.
On the bike now there is 2 bearing cups so its open in between (like picture 2).
If i now wanted to get a new bb for my bike, would i only need to switch the bearings, or the whole cuup.
On the bb it says b3204 and its 30mm spindle and its sram.
Hope someone has advice for this, thx!

BB30 (spits curse from lips) is 6806 bearings pressed directly into the frame. 6806 bearings already fitted into cups is PF30.
In order to get the correct preload for the bearings, you will need to add some spacers to the non-drive side, and a wave washer. The spacers are very thin.
The correct number of spacers is the fewest which remove play from the cranks. As the bearings wear, it may be necessary to add spacer(s).
You can do either, it’s probably more economical to replace the 6806 bearings as you can buy them for almost nothing on their own from a bearing supplier.
