Public bicycle rental system in Krakow, Poland

The main aim was to establish a city owned bicycle renting system in the city centre. The system has been built based on the public transport system, to integrate those 2 modes of transport. The idea was to make people leave their cars and go further by bicycle (to decrease car traffic in the old city centre and to promote cycling. System integrated bike renting facilities/places with bus/tram stops – to achieve integrated approach and promotion of combined use of soft modes, especially within the historical city centre.
