It’s a Miyata TrailRunner from 89? 90? 91? Not sure but she is nimble.
The handlebars are some old Raleigh drops that were made in the USA, and they’re thick so I added a little flare and delicately/meticulously/slowly sanded the inner diameter to fit the Shimano Deore bar-ends I got from a closing bike shop (the Cane Creek brake levers and vintage QBP cable housing came from them too!)
These brakes are incredible. Keeping that yoke low really works wonders.

I’m pretty confident that’s a 1990 based on the spec and decal positioning on the top tube. Kind of odd tho, the catalog for 1990 only lists “Majestic Purple” as a color option.
In 1989 the top tube decal was closer to the head tube and 1991 the decal was closer to the center of the top tube. None of the listed years came in black/grey. The catalogs do specify that specs were subject to change so maybe they called an audible on the purple.
Originally it would’ve been spec’ed with flat bars and a triple ring up front. Otherwise it looks original, oh and the seat has been changed.
Beautiful bike! I love this era Miyatas, I have a few of the road and touring models but have not come across the right MTBs yet. Grail stuff for me!

Can tell you’re many miles away from my location. You wouldn’t be riding that until about April. I’m in fat bike/studded tire mode for many weeks.
