I was not impressed with the Specialized Pathfinder Pros so tried the Vittoria Mezcals as I had good experience with the tires on my mountain bike. All I can say is you get plenty of grip, and speed, something else is with the 44c you get more comfort at high pressure.

I really like the mezcals. They don’t *feel* as zippy as some of the semi-slicks, but they pretty quick in my personal comparison of routes. They have a ton of traction in the single track and dirt road turns.
Really the only negative I’ve found is they wear pretty fast when 80% of your riding is pavement getting to and from the gravel/dirt.
That saddle bag doesn’t rub a hole in your shorts?
