  1. all this stuff is shit new riders do. long skids, crazy risks. the thrill of a fixed gear is unlike anything else and its easy to let go of your worries and just go insane. but you get into enough accidents and see enough cyclists die and you change and chill out as you gain experience. life is inevitably full of balance, you cant ride the high wave forever without pain and loss. its important to remember both sides at all times, it helps maintains peace and balance in life.

  2. This is how I view how some of y’all ride (and sometimes I see y’all in the wild – looking at you 606 boys in Chicago) 😂

I love you guys, but damn there is some stupid shit out on this sub that makes me realize this is happening across the country, fo sho.

Only the first video ducking under the truck is stupid. The rest is just kinda what NYC riding is like.

I know the long skid video looks absurd but I actually know where that hill is in Queens and it’s really steep.

r/bicyclingcirclejerk can eat my whole ass.

  5. Idk man like, I get riding hard but there’s a difference between riding hard through traffic and being reckless and filming it in the hopes that people will think you’re Mr Bigballs. If this becomes the norm around riding a fixed gear, and enough people start riding fixed gears in your city/country that the authorities notice, this behaviour leads to me or someone like me riding responsibly to and from work for years on a brakeless fixed gear and all of a sudden the police seizing it because they see me as the same as this guy. Like fuck 12 and all that but a dogs gonna be a dog and piss on a lamppost, if we give them a reason to treat us like a danger, like in this video, they’re going to treat us like a danger. Ultimately I think this sort of thing damages the culture as the culture grows and reaches more people.

Dude looks like he watched a few too many Terry B videos, but isn’t good enough to actually ride like them. He has 0 flow, 0 situational awareness, and 0 control. Just dog shit riding 😂

  7. Yeah he doesn’t have a good view of seeing things beforehand. Like the school bus one, he could of kept going up straight in the right side. But instead hit the left to get stuck.

With the SUV turning, he should of been had an awareness of the pedestrian from way down the block. As far as going under the trailer, I can’t lie I’ve wanted to do that in the past. But a lot of those just be adrenaline moments and you sb9nevee let your intrusive thoughts take over.

As a biker in the city, you have already have multiple choices for getting thru obstacles. But the thing is you also have to be aware of your skill level. Most people always try to overdo their limits. When they could of slowed down, stop or work on their field of view. Like with me, I would be looking down a block or two ahead, checking people habits if they are about to run or step out, knowing when a car is about to turn without blinkers.

I’m not adverse to vending the rules, but don’t be a dick, and don’t endanger or inconvenience others. This dude’s a bad bellend.

A fixing is not a toy. Guy needs to learn how to look down the road a bit and see bad shit developing. He ain’t gonna last

That pedestrian you struck–for real, or staged?

I had a close call in a downtown when I tried brakeless…never again.

    Ride safe, please.

This is the kinda dude who zooms ahead doing dumb shit and then huffs and puffs up the Manhattan bridge getting passed by city bikes

  13. He’s clearly doing it for the views, and succeeding because people are mad and sharing
