Early on Saturday morning 19 October 2024 Jona mounted the new cameras and fitted the mics for his favourite group ride, the @spokencycles1780 bunch in Cambridge, Waikato, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Initially the editor was skeptical about who would watch 1 hour and 40 mins of riding but honestly, once you settle in to it it’s mesmerising! That said, if you think a highlights version is in order let us know in the comments.

Watch the sunrise over the Te Miro range and they head out towards Kiwitahi then enjoy the serenity of rural Waikato as they come back past Tauwhare.

The usual suspects from these videos are all there. Many thanks to Toby for wearing the second mic, and the good riders of Cambridge for not objecting 😀

Shout out to @CyclistLeo – real trooper here!

  1. Cool to add the hidden mic to the mix! Video quality is amazing, even from the start! Such a beautiful country! I started the video, and will finish it in the morning. Bed time!

  2. Hey lovely new upload there Jona! Also i personally dont mind long videos (very much enjoy this one actually), but having both options of long and highlight vids would be nice too. Hope that it wouldn't be too much work for editor 😅

Edit: 21:17 that rider in the xspeed united team jersey looks familiar, cant seem to place who it is specifically

  3. Jona!!! I was just about to go to sleep and your video appeared. Really amazing insider view of your ride. The telemetry is fantastic too. I would say you might want to carry a cloth to wipe the front 360 camera as it gets smudgy. Keep up the awesome videos.

  4. Wow, i was getting exhausted just watching this one great content, Jonah. Some good conversation going on amongst the crew I hope you all enjoyed the outing.

  5. What a wonderful video! Beautiful landscapes and scenery. It is a long video, but not boring.

Your conversations keep it alive. It died a bit at the end when battery failed. Glad that there were no accidents!
You are rather close to each other! Good job Jona and friends! (and dad) THANKS!

  6. I'm enjoying the banter, and the incredible New Zealand landscapes. The conversations flow, and are enjoyable to hear. Whoever is next to you, chat them up! It's really keeping the video interesting. Then, with the telemetry overlay, we get to see how hard they're working along with speed and route. Incredible!

  7. The technology is amazing! It is exhausting to just watch and hard to imagine that ride. Whew! The video also captures the camaraderie of the ride so well. All with no collisions. I will admit the length is daunting, so it is on the tv in the background as I leisurely have morning and toast. Thank you for taking me along for the ride.

  8. What an epic content.. to be able to take part in that beautiful ride full time and seeing all the information, too.. absolutely a prime experience! Thanks a lot for recording all and cutting a nice video! ❤😊

  9. Impressive endurance there would be more then dead batteries if I tried a ride like this. How many Km you ride a week to be in condition to make a casual 86+ km ride. They make safety tethers for the goPro do they make the same for a insta360

  11. All i can say is wow the scenery is absolutely gorgeous i love how all the statistics are shown on screen. Where are the cameras located on your bike? I got wore out on the first 10 minutes i could'nt do what you do climbing all them steep hills then cruising 50 some kilometers per hour your insane but it looked fun too you thats all that matters thank you and glad too see you back again Jona! 😁🤘👍💯

  12. Nice climb up that hill or should I say mountain! Awesome all the states on the screen. I’d be blown out after that climb. Nice you can talk with Toby and others near you. Makes it more doable. And looks a lot more fun!

  13. Really nice vid Jona. I love what you can do with the new camera, it feels like I'm riding in the pack with you. Like all the conversation and the stats in the video. You guys get up to some real speed on the downhills. The uphills look pretty grueling but all of you seem to have a lot of fun. Great fun to watch. I love the beautiful scenery too. Congratulations on a great ride. Thanks for sharing it.

  14. Super cool vid. Like you said, you just settle in for the ride. I'm sure these don't earn like the others but I hope we get to see more long rides in the future.
