67… and cycling HOME to HERMITAGE (and back)

July/August 2024, the story of a two month bike journey… Celebrating the 20th anniversary of finding my hermitage hideaway in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, I’m linking my previous hometown in Belgium with this gorgeous place in the south of France, crossing the whole length of the country twice, mostly following the bike itineraries and many greenways with which France is blessed. Total distance: 3459km. At the same time this is also a symbolic bike journey, a homage to my prior 16 year quest when I was still roaming half the world in search of a place like this.
The film doesn’t only show the broad variety of beautiful landscapes of France, it also contains lots of talks and interesting interviews with people of all kinds encountered along the way.
