I was there the week before😁. I snowboard so those mogals would be a complete nightmare for me, I know to avoid this run, thank you, your sacrafice has not been in vein.😄
Nice video and kudos for uploading your experience. I would struggle similarly. Looking forward to taking some mogul lessons coming winter in Tignes.
An easy blue run – not a black – but good snow.
how do you measure the gradient of the run?
Great vid, what camera you use btw
You manage to pick your way down pretty good 👍
Thats probably my level of Mogal Skiing too. I Need to take some lessons.
Am I the only one who thinks it's not fun to ski like this?
The thing with that kind of terrain with long ''normal'' skis is to do large curves. Here you did small turns and so you stuggled.
Nice video. I think it’s been said already, a couple of lessons on steep slopes would help you ski with style and confidence. Keep your upper body facing down the slope, exaggerate the up and down movement to make quicker turns and let your skis do the work. This run is always a “fun” one, doesn’t matter if there’s loads of snow or hardly any! Well done for getting down in one piece!
Rule #1 for bump skiing…feet need to be together.
Rule #2 : Keep your shoulders facing downhill , focus on accurate pole plants on the front side just before…
Rule # 3. Compress legs swivel on top of the bumps, re-extend and edge down the backside of the bump.
Unless you plan to be a zipper bump skier…then this is the way most skiers tackle bumps.
Hi… we.ve the same level…. The problem is not the size of our skis….. but our talent !…. Best regards !…😊
Nice video. Well done. As some have already said, invest in a couple of 1 on 1 lessons to help you. It's not your skis that are the problem. Back in the day I used to ski on narrow, very long (2m) skis but if you have the right technique moguls won't bother you.
Thanks for ruining my moguls.
I used to race 208 cm slalom skis in 1970’s moguls and all! Learn to ski properly without the skis doing it for you!
Ah ben c’est clair que c’est ni du beau ni du bon ski ! It’s absolute rubbish skiing technique friend 😱😱😱 It’s even dangerous for you to go on trails like that considering how good you can ski in all honesty 😱 Perfect your ski technique on flat slopes first understand how to rebound from one side to the other with the kinetic energy you accumulate and use the front of your skies to direct you.
Even on the “traverse” part it’s way too slow and you have to push on the poles to make it happen…
Lot more practicing for you on blue then flat red with some gradient will do the job, learn how to be the master of your ski and speed on these kind of trails and then you can start going for something more serious.
From the first 30s I understood you were not a really an accomplished skier even the path your taking it’s not ideal for the flat section of it.
As far as I can see from your shadow the position shows ass too much back and trying to compensate with dragging your shoulders too much in front. You got an imbalance of weight distribution on your skies that can’t allow you to enjoy black trails like this one. For the most part of it I could see this black is straight on and not a too challenging one fairly flat and some bumps but nothing with technique good skiers will not overcome…
when we were kids 45 years ago for moguls but also for regular ski . You have to learn how to read the piste not the mogul in front of your ski but the second one to look for the best track. and the most important when you want to turn this is the arm where you gonna turn that lead your body. you have to stab your stick where you want to turn and use your hand as a pivot
this part looks much less crowded than VI/Tignes.
Nice Video. I envy you. Skiing in Val d'Isere is awesome.
If I may also share a humble piece of advice, I'd say try and start turning while on top of the moguls. Don't try to fit and turn in between them. You'll find they help you more than hinder you this way.
I've skied those same runs many times.
The Forêt can be extremely difficult -at one point it's very steep, narrow, enormous bumps later in the day and in spring it re-freezes late-on to be even more difficult.
It was great fun watching the video and fired me-up for my upcoming road trip to Val Thorens.
You make great videos btw!
No nonsense and it's nice to hear the sound of the skis on the snow.
❤
How do you get the altitude/speed dial ?
How is that added to GoPro footage?
(That's assuming you're using a GoPro).
👌👍⛷️
Have done this a few times But I never call it skiing , more like falling with style…
Do they groom these piste at all ?!!
have you tried the Tunnel piste?
Stay left at the start to avoid those flat parts 😉 It's (a bit) better on that side …
Come on man, you're better than to blame your gear. Has nothing to do with the length of ski, its how you use it.
haha fuck my knees xD big nope for me
That black was hard work, I too struggle on similar.
As a snowboarder that wouldn’t be fun at all, give me a super steep smooth black run any day! 😂
