  1. Step 1: make sure those posts are the same diameter. I wouldn’t bet on it if one was just laying around.
    I’d they’re the same, you can undo the bolts on the original seat mount hardware, and then install onto the other.

  2. FYI, the old seat post is not broken, that is the normal length from a 1970-1980’s frame. The clamp is cheap, also typical for that era.
