I’m not certain that I care to convince you otherwise but I heartily disagree. Clearly the best kind of bike is the lightest, most aerodynamic, best rolling bike you can get on. Unless you’re planning to sleep in the dirt tonight in which case I guess you need racks and sleeping bags and whatnot.
I would admit some think me a poseur. But I find multiple bike jerseys in ever increasing sizes give me all the carrying capacity I need.

A multi-purpose bike is all very well and nice for the city or town but that is also a compromised bike for some types of riding.
I have 5 bikes. One is a gravel bike with bags – for touring but it has been used for shopping too. Still, it’s not what one would confuse with a cargo bike.
I would be at a disadvantage if I raced my road or MTB bikes with bags attached.
Most of my groceries are delivered. I don’t live in a city nor do I commute at all. I have a large garage for both bikes and cars.
Soon, I’ll be living in a Wildlife Estate in a Bush Villa near Kruger National Park with all of the above too. I’ll be cycling where giraffe, zebra and various buck roam freely so a bag for my camera will suffice but nothing larger required.
I don’t need a cargo bike as such so no…it is not the best kind of bike for me albeit I appreciate it may be for you. 👍🏻
