I used to own a scott aspect from 27.5” rims size medium and just upgrated to a full suspension size large at 29” rims. Im 5”10 and weigh 220lbs. Does it make sence that i choose the large?

A large can absolutely make sense at your height.
A large will feel more stable at speed and when things get rowdy. A medium will feel more maneuverable, but will lose a lot of stability, especially when pointed down.
A large with a 35-40 mm will probably fit you perfectly.
